Jocelyn Du & Meredith Rix – Operations and Finance Managers
Hello everyone! My name is Jocelyn (she/her) and I am incredibly honoured and excited to be the Operations Manager for Queen’s Bands this year! This will be my fourth year of Concurrent Education at Queen’s and my fourth year in Bands. I have been a flute player for twelve years and part of marching bands for eight years. Marching band has always held a special place in my heart; there is nothing more magical and exciting than marching through crowded streets on parade day, making music and contributing to community spirit and celebration. You can often find me studying at the Queen’s Centre, going for long walks outdoors while listening to a podcast, and practicing my instrument. I cannot wait to work with this incredible executive team to make this year a fun one!
Hello everyone! My name is Meredith (she/her) and I am so excited to be the Finance half of the Ops/Finance duo for this year! I am a post-grad Health Sci student and in my fourth year of Bands! I play the piccolo and flute in the brass band, and this will be my second year on the executive team. Queen’s Bands has been a huge part of my undergraduate experience. Being a part of the face of Queen’s school spirit has been an amazing privilege, and I look forward to managing these amazing Bands alongside my partner in crime. In my spare time, you can find me in the Bands’ office or the vault pretending to “study” or trying to finish yet another research proposal ;). Looking forward to an awesome year with you all!

Alex McArthur – Drum Major
Howdy! My name is Alex McArthur (he/him), and I’m absolutely thrilled to be serving as this year’s Drum Major for Queen’s Bands. I’m currently in my third year of Life Sciences, and this marks my third incredible year with the Bands. My home section is the Drum Corps, where I play the snare drum. I’ve loved every moment of being part of this tight-knit, spirited community.
As Drum Major, I’m excited to bring energy, leadership, and a whole lot of enthusiasm to the field and beyond. You’ll often hear me yelling commands or calling cadences, but off the field, I’m a pretty chill guy. You can usually find me in the JDUC, in Cogro sipping a coffee and pretending to be productive, or the Douglas Library reading room when it’s time to get serious and lock in.
I’m so grateful to be part of such a passionate and talented group of people, and I can’t wait for another unforgettable year with Queen’s Bands.
